Hubby and I are going to pick up paint for our NEW bedroom soon. We have a beige/brown carpet, and our bed is upholstered in a deep red/orange damask type fabric. After much soul-searching, I’ve decided a nice, subtle yellow color will look good in the room – it gets so much sunlight, and yellow will complement the other colors (bed, carpet, artwork) in the room nicely.
I’ve got it narrowed down to five shades of yellow. They are all so similar, that I could pick or choose any and be fine with it. So, by name only – PICK MY PAINT:
1 – Creamy Oat
2 – Warm Summer
3 – Summer Wish
4 – Peaceful Calm
5 – Coconut Cream
So – what will it be?
My vote is for “warm summer” because that’s what I’m really wanting right now!!
Peaceful Calm sounds like something you might need during those tax season months. How do those paint guys come up with such names? Oh, and your bedroom sounds beautiful.
I’m all for a warm summer right now…but with the cold and snow, Creamy Oat sounds good too! 🙂
You might want to go a shade paler than you think. Yellow can be tricky…I did my kitchen once & wasn’t sure at first, but in the end Martha Stewart Heirloom Rose was perfect & sunny & good in the kitchen.
I vote for Summer Wish. 🙂
I’m loving Summer Wish as well – sounds so warm and bright and cheerful! Good luck with the painting!
i pick coconut cream…because i like mounds bars, and there’s coconut in them.
you shouldn’t count my choice. i don’t think i have a valid reason…
I thought about the colors the names conjure up. Not all of them seem like “yellow” names. Peaceful calm reminds me of summer breezes by the sea…can yellow have a blue tint and not be green? Summer wish reminds me of spring and a fields of flowers yellow. Warm summer hints at bright sunshine and tan cheeks. Coconut cream is almost my pick because I love the way the white meringue looks on it, but Creamy oats, I think, is my favorite because it’s not too yellow and not too brown…it’s just right.

I vote for peaceful calm… oh, wait… how DID you know I would vote for that and pick it? Because the name conjures up thoughts of peaceful bliss that are rare in households with young kids.
